  • Jargon  —  This is a term for the type of words and phrases which are unique to specific fields, cultures, sub-cultures, groups, etc..  Though Jargon can include official terminology — it does not always represent the “official” vocabulary within those areas.  This is a form of slang which is often specific to certain professions and/or hobbies.
    .
    The word “Expression” is an example of Jargon within the English language world.  It is not a grammatical term, but is widely used to describe various words, terms, phrases, etc..  So — since it is almost impossible to teach or learn about English without the use of this word — even though it is not an “official” grammatical term — it is certainly a word which is Jargon within the English teaching and English learning fields.
