Phrasal-Nouns – Letter V

–  Phrasal-Nouns – Letter V

(to be) A Shrinking Violet – [*This is a very archaic phrase which is almost never used anymore but it came up in a lesson, so if it can help one student, then I’m sure it can help others as well. –me.]  This is an idiomatic noun phrase which is used to describe someone who is very shy, meek, and so afraid of any sort of confrontation, that even things which would not be considered confrontational by most people causes this person to be almost completely inept.
