Phrasal-Nouns – Letter H

–  Phrasal-Nouns – Letter H  –

(a) Badge of Honor – See:  Phrasal Nouns – Letter “B” for “Badge”

(a) Dark-Horse – This term has so many different interpretations by the people who still use it (and it is not very common anymore) that if you hear someone use it, you might want to ask them to clarify what they mean.  The only common current between all of the different meanings is the element of mystery…  However, since so many people mis-use language by using words and phrases without fully understanding them, it is not unlikely that a woman could confuse the meaning of this with describing a man as Tall, Dark, and Handsome.

(a) Half-Truth – See:  Phrasal Nouns – Letter “T”, for “Truth”

(a) Household Items – See:  Phrasal Nouns – Letter “I” for “Items”
